Irene’s previous television appearance resurfaced after it featured Red Velvet’s tiny stage costume.
Last year, Irene appeared on Onstyle’s program Laundry Day and revealed a few costumes from Red Velvet’s debut. The outfit was a short sports skirt paired with a thin knitted top used by Red Velvet when they promoted their debut track, “Happiness.”
MC No Hong Chul and Huh Ji Woong were not able to hide their surprise when the outfits were being put out for display. It led to Huh Ji Wong to further ask, “Is this not children’s wear?” Irene responded with a shy laugh at their reaction.
Han Hye Yeon, a stylist, also pitched her thoughts and defended the concept.
“It’s a cheerleader costume. It seems to have caught the preppy look as a concept.”

Irene was eventually asked how she was able to put such tiny costume on but it appeared to have matched her slim physique well. Even as they looked through Irene’s photos at the time of their debut, her doll-like appearance was received well.
