G-Dragon's "That XX" achieves all-kill status despite R rating
Despite receiving an R rating for his comeback track "That XX," Big Bang's G-Dragon still managed to dominate online music charts since its release yesterday. On September 1st, "That XX" ranked first on all online music charts and was later on dubbed as an "all-kill." The track also managed to bring down PSY's "Gangnam Style," which was topping the lists for weeks.
YG Entertainment also revealed that G-Dragon is the first artist to have a R rating track receiving an all-kill in the charts, proving that his and Big Bang's fanbase are not only among the teens, but also in the 20s to 30s range. Prior to the official evaluation, speculations as to what "XX" means were also a big discussion amongst G-Dragon's curious fanbase.
"That XX" is mellow and acoustic track that speaks of a man's feelings towards someone special, who is treated badly by her current boyfriend. G-Dragon also appeared in the music video for the track and plays both characters in the story.
Meanwhile, Jennie Kim, a member of YG Entertainment's upcoming group, also made her debut in the music video and played the role of G-Dragon's love interest.
What do you think of G-Dragon's all-kill? Any thoughts on his new track and music video?
