Co-ed's male sub group to debut under the name "SPEED"
It's been revealed that Co-ed's male unit decided on a name for their upcoming debut.
Core Contents Media, the company behind Co-ed, revealed earlier today that the male unit is set to debut under the name SPEED. "The man unit's name is 스피드 (SPEED). Everyone agreed and settled on this name together because of it's interchangeable meaning."
At the end of 2011, it was revealed that member Kangho had left the group to focus on his acting career. He was replaced by Superstar K3 contestant Jongkook.
The male members of the group will finally be making their way back into the music industry by releasing their own version, a "Michael Jackson - Billie Jean" concept, of labelmate T-ara's hit track "Lovey Dovey" on February 9th. Whether the group will go on to promote this track on music shows is still undecided.

What a stupid decision. There's already a J-Pop group named SPEED. Not surprising though since some K-pop group named themselves Perfume too. -rolls eyes-

You can't expect them to go through all names and see which one hasn't been taken yet though. I'm sure Speed and Perfume aren't the only group names taken by Koreans as well as Japanese people.

Who cares about Japan ? And maybe, you should read the article better. The name of the group isn't "SPEED" but 스피드 . The graphics are different and that's what counts for music groups names. Nobody is allowed to use some body else's name group on a professional basis. Co-ed Boys haven't used any body's name. In any case, nobody bloody cares about Japanese music since it's so rubbish. It's about time Korea ships a few vocal coach over there, so Japanese will start getting some real singers...

@TwistedInsanity SPEED and Perfume are some of the biggest groups in Japan though, that's like no freakin' excuse. And they've been around for years. SPEED since the '90s and Perfume since 2001. I mean, it's really, really stupid. I didn't know Koreans hated Japan so much that they don't even care about some of Japan's biggest/legendary groups. It's quite funny actually because then they go to Japan to try and promote their groups there to get more money. And CCM has already been to Japan because of T-ara, how the f do they not know who SPEED is?

I know who SPEED and Perfume are, and that wasn't what I meant. Otherwise The Boss shouldn't be The Boss because Bruce Springsteen is named like that. T-ara shouldn't be T-ara because Japan has a Tiara (or the other way around if Tiara debuted later), AAA/Triple A (Japan) and AA/Double A (Korea) look-a-like. There are other people and artists in the world with the name BEAST, EXO, Big Bang or loads of others.
I can see where the thought is coming from though, and I understand. But if they want to be named SPEED, then why can't they? It's their loss in the end.

oh yeah finally! their male sub group! although I miss the group together ;w;
@Marty M: JPOP is good stuff for some of us. People have different talents & agencies look for different talents. It might not be what you like, but if they're still in the game they're doing something right. Respect that. I'm not too much of a fan of K-POP, but I won't go bashing on your favored music like that.
