Girls' Generation members Yoona and Yuri star in competing dramas

Girls’ Generation members Yoona and Yuri are set to compete for viewer counts as both their respective dramas are set to premiere in March and are scheduled on the same time slots. Yuri will be starring in SBS “Fashion King” while Yoona will be staring in KBS 2TV drama “Love Rides the Rain”.

Yuri’s “Fashion King”, stars Yoo Ah In and Shin Sekyung and is set to air mid-March on Mondays and Tuesdays. This SBS drama is about aspiring fashion designers in today's society, and Yuri is set to take on the role of fashion designer Choi Anna. She is a lonely individual aspiring to become a stronger person. Although this is Yuri’s first actual drama, she has already gained acting experiences through going on sitcoms and variety shows.

Yoona, meanwhile, takes the lead with new Hallyu frontrunner Jang Geunsuk in “Love Rain”. The drama is set to air its first episode during the last week of March. This KBS drama compares the perspectives towards love in the 70s and modern day society. Yoona will take on the challenge of two different characters, a mother (Kim Yoonhee) from the 70s, and her daughter (Kim Hana) in the year 2012. Although Yoona has had previous acting experience, most notably in “Cinderella Man”, playing two roles within the same drama will prove to be a difficult task for her.
