Big Bang's G-Dragon was an SM Entertainment trainee for 5 years prior to joining YG
It was recently revealed that Big Bang's G-Dragon was a former trainee of SM Entertainment in the past.
On May 9th, Mnet's "Wide Entertainment News" revealed idols' stories that has never been revealed beforehand. In particular, what has caught the most attention is one of YG Entertainment's top star, G-Dragon of Big Bang, was formerly under SM Entertainment and had been a trainee under the agency for 5 years.
According to the broadcast, G-Dragon entered SM Entertainment when he was 8 years old with big dreams of becoming a singer, but in the end made his debut under YG Entertainment after 6 years of additional training under the new agency.
The news has come to a surprise due to the vast difference in characteristics between the two agencies.
Netizens commented, "G-Dragon doesn't really seem to blend with SM," "G-Dragon's image does not fit at all with SM's, he's perfect in YG."
Currently, Big Bang is on their tour and is set to visit Nagoya, Yokohama, Osaka and Saitama and is expected to meet over 150,000 fans on their Japan leg tour.

This is really old news. I have seen this same story on a few other sites. Granted, he is better with YG than SM, I'm glad he's with YG. <3 Bigbang

Why is this particular news coming up again? As a Bigbang/YG fan, I believe we all already know. I assume this is for new fans/readers. GD's dream was to big to be restricted, and YGE is letting him live his dream.

Forgot which interview it was, but he did mention about being a trainee under SM and how he would hang out with Shinhwa members when he was younger.
