FT Island's Song Seunghyun talks about his musical debut
As guitarist and vocalist for band FT Island, Song Seunghyun recently made his first theatrical appearance in the musical "Jack the Ripper." On July 25th, he appeared at a press conference for the musical where he discussed his feelings about the project.
Song Seunghyun expressed, "I was so happy to receive an offer asking me to appear on the musical. I was really excited about appearing in the musical. I’m learning the pleasure of acting while performing with veteran actors." He also briefly described some of the differences between being in a musical versus and that of a band. "Since I was a member of the band for a long time, it was difficult for me to perform in musicals because there were lots of different things happening. I’m still afraid of those things but I’m trying to overcome with it." Adding to that, he also explained how the stage is able to rotate to show different angles for various scenes.
He was cast for the part of Daniel, a character in the musical who gets involved in a precarious situation for his love interest. The show started on July 20th and will run until August 25th in Korea. "Jack the Ripper" will also be taken to Tokyo in September.
