Kollaboration San Francisco 3 announces guest performers and judges
With the showcase for Kollaboration San Francisco 3 rapidly approaching, the guest performers and guest judges have been announced.
Spoken word artist Michelle “Mush” Lee will open the showcase this year with a special performance and will be followed by a diverse guest performer lineup including Seattle-based band New Heights and acoustic singer-songwriter Joseph Vincent. Joining the stage will be comedian KT Tatara, hip-hop dance group VIP San Jose, and last year’s Kollaboration San Francisco 2 winner, ANAK.
As a Kollaboration tradition, this year’s Kollaboration San Francisco 3 competitors came together earlier in the month to release a music video covering “I’m Glad You’re Close to Saving the World.” The eight competitors – Soulfull, Outer Sunset, Monsters Calling Home, Jay Rio, Dustin Ako, Peter Chung, Team Loopkicks and Crywolffs! Violin – will be taking the stage for a chance at the $1000 Grand Prize, a $500 Audience Choice Award sponsored by Verizon, and the chance to open for Clara C and David Choi at their San Francisco show in the Fall. The winner may also earn a spot at Kollaboration Los Angeles’ November show featuring other winners from across the country. Judging the competition this year will be NBC Bay Area’s anchorwoman Janelle Wang, California assemblywoman Fiona Ma, and hip-hop dancer and choreographer Ellen Kim.
Returning to the Zellerbach Auditorium at UC Berkeley on Saturday, September 8th, this year promises to be an exciting competition at Kollaboration San Francisco 3. There will also be a freestyle dance and a freestyle vocal contest for the audience at the event, each with a $100 prize. You can RSVP for the event on Facebook and tickets can be purchased online. Don’t miss your chance at purchasing a meet and greet admission package, which includes a meet and greet with the competitors, guest performers and judges, as well as a 15-minute early admission to the show and access to better seating, for $40. Alternatively, advanced admission tickets are also still on sale at $20. Get your tickets early before they run out.
Will you be attending Kollaboration San Francisco 3? Have you attended any of the Kollaboration showcases yet this year?
