PSY's "Gangnam Style" ranks 1st in the U.K's "Big Top 40"
PSY gains another international number one after getting the top spot on Vodafone's Big Top 40 and also ranking third in The Official Top 40 in the United Kingdom. On September 23rd, Capital FM revealed that PSY went straight into the top spot on the "Big Top 40" beating The Script and Will.i.am's "Hall of Fame."
Meanwhile, PSY failed to score the first K-pop UK number one single in the official Top 40 hosted by BBC's Radio 1. "Gangnam Style" climbed 34 places and ranked third following The Script and will.i.am's "Hall of Fame" and Example's "Say Nothing." PSY's current chart ranking was later on featured on BBC's entertainment page. According to the BBC, The Official Charts Company revealed that PSY's single showed no signs of slowing down and is still expected to top next week's chart.
Vodafone's Big Top 40 is a chart show based on real-time download figures provided by iTunes and is broadcasted through 140 commercial radio stations in the United Kingdom. The Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart is based on singles download figures compiled by The Official Charts Company under the control of the British record industry.
