Seo Taiji's fans form a choir in his honor
For the past four months volunteers have come together to create the "Seo Taiji Choir". Singer Seo Taiji debuted on March 23rd, 1992, and his fans want to celebrate his 20th anniversary. The event will take place on August 18th at the Sadang Cultural Center in Seoul and is being sponsored by Yonsei Digital Conservatory and Sound Cat.
The choir formed in April of this year and the participants are very enthusiastic to be part of the commemorative celebrations. All of those involved feel that this will express how Seo Taiji has impacted their lives through his music. Furthermore, the fans have also created a fund to help forest conservation efforts in Brazil. The "Seo Taiji Forest" was created after the fan club collected about 39 million won. Aside from the Seo Taiji Choir's performance, a digital archive was opened and they will be performing various tracks spanning from his career of 20 years.
To all of this Seo Taiji responded, "I don’t know why, but today, I feel as excited and happy as the day I debuted with my first album when I was 20. I wish to keep this emotion forever. I hope that music can be comfort and happiness for everyone in this cold-hearted world."
In the last 20 years the singer has become famous for mixing various genres of music including classical Korean music, hip-hop, rap, metal, and rock. From 1992 through 1995 he released four albums titled "I Know", "Hayeoga", "Dreaming For Balhae", and "Come Back Home" that solidified his mark in the music scene. For his 8th studio album he released a DVD version of "Seo Taiji Record of the 8th [398]".
