Twitter features PSY on "Pulse of the Planet" and "New Voices"
PSY's fame this year continues to grow as he has recently been mentioned on Twitter's "Pulse of the Planet" and "New Voices" page.
Twitter's "Pulse of the Planet" page is a collection of large events in 2012 that have received an immense number of Tweets and Retweets. The "New Voices" page is Twitter's welcome to high-profile users who started using Twitter this year.
In the "Pulse of the Planet" page, a photo of PSY on the MTV Video Music Award red carpet is accompanied by statistics about the popularity of the event. The text reads, "Over 52 million votes were cast via Tweets for the “Most Sharable Video” for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards show. The show itself generated 14.7 million Tweets; the biggest peak of the night went to the moment One Direction won Best Pop Video with 98,307 Tweets per minute. Taylor Swift’s performance was the night’s second biggest moment, generating 86,275 Tweets per minute." PSY was the winner of the "Best Video" award last month.
On the "New Voices" page, PSY is mentioned in the Music category with other top starts such as Adele, Gwen Stefani, and Ringo Starr. Despite having joined just this year, he has already accumulated over 1.5 million followers.
