YG Entertainment clarifies speculations surrounding PSY's performance in China + confirmed to perform in Macau
PSY is in the middle of controversy in China, after a debate regarding his salary and certain demands were released. On November 25th, it was allegedly reported that PSY will be attending CCTV's New Year's Gala in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
However, the controversy started when it was revealed that PSY and his agency, allegedly demanded for 3 million yuan for the thirty minute performance. Upon hearing the news, Chinese netizens expressed their disappointment in the talent fee, expressing that the performance warranted too much money.
Meanwhile, after the controversy broke out, YG Entertainment released a statement saying that although they have received a lot of offers from various broadcasting channels in China but denied that they demanded a 3 million yuan fee, as it is usually offered by the inviting party. They did confirmed, however, that PSY will be performing in Club CUBIC, City of Dreams in Macau, China on November 29th.
PSY continues to break records with his track "Gangnam Style," after being hailed as the "Most Viewed Video" on Youtube, beating Justin Bieber's "Baby." After taking a short unannounced break, PSY is set to visit Thailand on the 27th and then head off to Hong Kong for "2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards."
