Hangeng stars in CF that displays hate towards Koreans?
Former Super Junior member Hangeng has been the center of netizen attention after his CF popped up on websites. Although the CF is a few months old, it's causing controversy for its content.
In the CF, a woman who is dressed comically hits Hangeng on the back of his head and tells him in Korean, "Hey, get a grip! If you don't want to do this, get lost!" Hangeng then logs onto the game, defeats a character that looks just like her, comes back into reality and puts on an incredible performance. The CF ends with the "Korean" woman watching Hangeng's stage in shock amidst cheering fans.
Netizens have been criticizing his company for placing Hangeng in such an ad as well as berating Hangeng for appearing in it. However, some fans have commented, supporting Hangeng by saying, "it's understandable, he has fees to pay to SM. I want him to do as much as he can" and "no matter what, ELFs and him have spent too long together. Something like this isn't going to stop us from supporting him."
What do you think? Do you think he's sending a message back to his old company?

jennyjjong, thank you so much for deleting the misinformation! I would like to add, though, that it is important to know the context of the video game CF. Though I could see why people would think it's anti-SM Entertainment (saying that it is anti-Korean is a bit far-fetched) without knowing the context, it was neither an attack against SM Entertainment nor against Korea. It was poking fun at a Korean video game. Indeed, TianXia 2 marketing campaign purposely pitted Han Geng against a Korean character because months before its release, the game beat the Korean game Aoin for best visuals in a research conducted by IPSOS group:
"Korean games have always been known for their detailed and beautiful graphics and imagery, Aion even has a very strong image preperty system. However, in this blind test, Aion was defeated by TianXia2 and JianWang3 in the general ratings of both the character design and the image design" (Source: http://gl.800n.cn/tx...ws/362636.shtml).
Still... I feel like they have known how it would be interpreted, given Han Geng's past experiences in Korea. So even if they didn't mean it the way many people are taking it... it was still a bad idea to begin with.

Hate towards Koreans? It could be seen as a very direct attack at SME but to call it an attack against all Koreans it's ridiculous.
