Starring top actors Lee Byunghun, Ryu Seungryong, and Han Hyojoo, four character posters were recently released for the film "Masquerade," further increasing the anticipation for this upcoming historical film among movie-goers.

In the first poster, actor Lee Byunghun, who plays the role of both a king and peasant in the film, is deep in thought and seems to be worrying about certain problems. The words “I want to be king” appear above him, hinting at Lee Byunghun’s character’s ambition.

The second poster features actor Ryu Seungryong, who plays the king’s eunuch in the film. In the poster, Ryu Seungryong’s character is seen looking straight ahead. The words, “If your dream is to be king, I can help you realize that dream,” appear beneath him, showing the confidence of Ryu Seungryong’s character.

Playing the role of the queen in the film, actress Han Hyojoo appears in the third poster and exudes elegance, but she has an expression of sorrow that causes people to feel sorry for her. The words, “I pray for you every night. May I never become a woman of the palace in my next life,” appear above Han Hyojoo and convey the deep sadness within Han Hyojoo’s character.

The fourth poster features actor Kim Inkwon, who plays the role of an official who is always near the king. The words “You can fool the world but not me” appear alongside Kim Inkwon’s character, hinting at the sharp yet cunning personality of the character.

Scheduled to be released in late September, “Masquerade” will tell the story of a Korean king named Gwanghae (Lee Byunghun), who is poisoned by his political rivals. Unable to properly rule his country due to the poisoning, Gwanghae seeks the help of his eunuch (Ryu Seungryong) in finding a body double who can temporarily take on the duties of the king.

They find a peasant named Ha Seon (Lee Byunghun), who looks identical to the king, and as a result, Ha Seon pretends to be the king for fifteen days. However, with so many people seeking to assassinate the king and take over the throne, Ha Seon must confront many dangers and difficulties during his masquerade as King Gwanghae.
