Stars attend the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival
On July 19, the 16th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival held its opening ceremony at the Bucheon Gymnastium. Many well-known Korean celebrities made appearances at the ceremony, including Ha Jiwon and Min Hyorin, both of whom received awards.
Actress Ha Jiwon received the "Producer's Choice Award" along with actor Ha Jeonwoo, while Min Hyorin and Lee Jehun received the "Fantasia Award."
The "Producer's Choice Award" is an acting award that is chosen and given by the Korean Film Producer's Association and Producer's Guild of Korea, and the "Fantasia Award" is given by the citizens of Bucheon to the celebrities they most want to meet.
Actor Jo Sungha was also recognized for his acting with the "It's Star Award," which is given to an actor who has left the strongest impression on viewers this past year.
The Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) is an international film festival that started in South Korea in 1997 and has since become one of the more well-known film festivals in Asia. Using romance, fantasy and risk as the themes for this year, PiFan will be showing 230 films from 47 countries.
But aside from various movie showings, PiFan has planned many other exciting events for the festival, including outdoor film exhibits and special performances. The festival will run until July 29.
