1,738 songs reported to have been banned by MBC, KBS, and SBS over three years

Recently, it was reported that over the past three years, Korean television stations MBC, KBS, and SBS have banned 1,738 songs from airing. MBC banned the most songs, reaching a record of 868, while KBS banned 630, and SBS banned 527.

The reasons for the bans have also been calculated, with the most songs (1,190) being banned due to crude and insulting language. Another 263 songs were banned for inappropriate innuendos in the lyrics, and an additional 218 songs were banned due to product advertisements in the lyrics. 63 songs were also banned due to their negative portrayals of disabled people.

Out of the 1,738 songs banned by MBC, KBS, and SBS, there are 207 songs that were banned by all three television stations, one of which is Leessang's "Turned Off the TV."

What do you think of the number of bans over the last few years?

What interests me the most is that only 207 of them were banned by all three networks. Why isn't there one standard? I know there's some type of FCC-like agency; shouldn't songs be banned only if they say so? Wouldn't be easier on everyone if a song was either banned or not banned, rather than banned in some cases and not in others?
