PSY wins "Best Video" + performs "Gangnam Style" at the 2012 MTV EMA
Capitivating the globe with "Gangnam Style," PSY performed his hit track and won "Best Video" at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards held in Frankfurt, Germany. Just yesterday, Heidi Klum teased fans and uploaded her own parody of "Gangnam Style" together with PSY, generating a lot of interest from their followers.
On November 11th, PSY took the stage at the awards show, starting off the performance of his track at his own little beach set outside of the venue. Making his way from the set to the stage, he passed David "the Hoff" Hasselhoff along with various dancers and backstage crew people. When on stage, PSY did his world famous dance before heading off in all kinds of directions, in the end being joined by a big amount of PSY clones for the rest of the performance.
Last September, the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards revealed that PSY's video for "Gangnam Style" has been nominated for the "Best Video" category, contending with international acts such as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, M.I.A, and Rihanna. He was further described as, "Psy has been a star in his native South Korea for over a decade, but thanks to the viral ‘Gangnam Style’ video and a VMA appearance, he’s now an international sensation." The winner for this category was not based on online voting but through a selected panel from MTV.
This will be the second time that Korean music was represented in the event as Big Bang attended last year's ceremony in Belfast, Ireland and won the "Worldwide Act" award.
Meanwhile, you can continue rooting for PSY by using the hashtag #EMAzingPSY on Twitter. Congratulations, PSY!

thanks for updating with the video! watching the performance, gosh, what a performer/entertainer. even if BIG BANG or SNSD had made it, i don't think /the world/ would have been as receptive as they are to PSY. he has just this natural charisma that's crazy, spontaneous that idk, removes the language barrier in the songs. a great entertainer. k-pop acts are too clean cut in general.
