AOA’s Seolhyun considering female lead role for “Orange Marmalade”
AOA’s Seolhyun has been reported to be in talks for the lead female role in the upcoming KBS2 drama Orange Marmalade.
Despite several reports that the singer will be joining the cast as the female lead, her agency FNC Entertainment responded by saying that although they are currently reviewing the role, nothing has been finalized yet. The female lead role for Orange Marmalade is of a female vampire who tries to hide her true immortal identity.
The agency made a similar statement in regards to CNBLUE’s Jonghyun who has also been reported to have joined the cast of Orange Marmalade. Despite the unclear status of the singers’ participation in the upcoming drama, however, popular actor Yeo Jin Goo has been confirmed to play the male lead in the drama. If reports are confirmed, a drama starring Yeo Jin Goo, Seolhyun, and Jonghyun will definitely make for some interesting chemistry.
Orange Marmalade is based off a Korean webtoon of the same name. The story follows a female protagonist who hides her true identity as a vampire.
Seolhyun has had experience acting in dramas before, as she had roles in both KBS2 drama My Daughter Seo-young and SBS drama Ugly Alert. Recently, the singer took part in the hit movie Gangnam 1970 alongside superstar Lee Min Ho.
Orange Marmalade is set to air its pilot in May after the broadcast of Spy, which airs on Fridays at 9:50 KST.
