BTOB’s Sungjae Reveals How “Goblin” Has Changed His Life
BTOB‘s Yook Sungjae has made a name for himself as an actor in recent years, and his swift decision to join the cast of Goblin has paid off well.
Known for his popular performances in Who Are You: School 2015 and The Village: Achiara’s Secret, Sungjae revealed that his decision to take the role of Deok Hwa on Goblin was rather abrupt. On SBS‘s Night of Real Entertainment, Sungjae spoke about his involvement in Goblin, and how the decision to participate came to him quickly.
He revealed that he has been interested in doing the role even before he had read or seen the script. The impulse decision to be a part of the show has had excellent results for him and the rest of the cast, as Goblin broke multiple viewership and OST records. Sungjae also reflected on how he was grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the hit.
He jokingly explained that his popularity has skyrocketed since the drama started airing. According to Sungjae:
“When I go to a restaurant, I can feel it when I hear [the word] “Goblin” at a table next to me.”

Since the show finished airing, the cast has thanked fans with tearful good-byes. Even though the drama has finished airing, the cast members continue to show that they’ve become close friends, Recently, Sungjae has returned to promoting with BTOB and the cast of Goblin even made an appearance at their recent concert.
