IU releases full audio for new track “Knee”

On December 4th, LOEN Entertainment released the full audio for IU‘s newest track “Knee.” The singer had released a spoiler for the track several days ago for fans as a voice reply on DC Inside, a South Korean internet forum.

The song, which is very reminiscent of IU’s debut material, accentuates her sweet and angelic voice. Unlike many of the singer’s newest songs, “Knee” doesn’t emphasize IU’s powerful vocals, but rather focuses on her soft and lovely voice that earned her the title Nation’s Little Sister. The song, which can be classified as a lullaby due to its lyrics and soft melody, is a throwback to classic IU.

Although LOEN Entertainment uploaded the song to their LOEN TREE YouTube channel, the video is just of a black screen. Despite the sad lyrics, fans could not help but be excited about the prospects of a new release by the singer.

IU tweeted fans about the release of the track directly after the closing ceremonies of the 2014 MAMA, for which the singer won two awardsBest Female Artist and Most Popular Vocalist. As a gesture of gratitude for all of her fans for supporting her and helping her win the awards, IU tweeted about the release of the track, and said: “I’m happy, it’s thanks to you! Thank you, this is a gift.” 2014 has been a very successful year for the singer. In addition to the two awards she received from the 2014 MAMA, IU also won the prestigious Best Artist of the Year award at the 2014 MelOn Music Awards.

Although the video is unlisted on YouTube, IU shared the link to her Twitter followers to show how much she appreciates her supporters.
