Actress Seo Ji Hye Commended For Saving A Woman From A Drunk Man
It was belatedly reported in Korean media that actress Seo Ji Hye saved a woman from a drunk man on a train in 2010. She had finished filming for her drama Kim Soo Ro back then and was taking the KTX train back to Seoul. She saw a drunk man harass a woman on the platform.
Seo Ji Hye carefully approached them and asked what was the matter. The woman told her that she had kindly answered the man’s questions about directions, but he continued to follow her and hit on her. Seo Ji Hye brought the woman closer to her side and got on the train with her to protect her. The man followed the two onto the train and asked the woman for her phone number.
At that point, Seo Ji Hye could not stand how he persisted in hitting on the woman, even after a verbal warning. Seo Ji Hye then physically apprehended him using her Hapkido skills. It was reported that she used a mechigi throw technique on the man to apprehend him.
Seo Ji Hye possesses a 4th degree black belt in hapkido. She admitted to have been scared at the moment, but took up the courage to save the woman.
