Amid the “LEMONADE” promotions, aespa were mocked for “desperate” actions for the song by releasing singles for each member, with speculations about SM Entertainment wanting the group to chart on the Billboard 100.

On June 9, it was announced that rather than the Billboard 100, the song had ranked on the Billboard Bubbling, a chart ranking songs gaining attraction but haven’t hit the main chart.

The announcement sparked major backlash towards the group as their attempts were dubbed a “failure” and “embarrassing.” In particular, netizens claimed that aespa fans said that remixes were a certified way to make the charts, after they criticized other groups for their releases, and that it showcased how little influence aespa had globally.
