ARMYs Praise Coldplay For Covering BTS Jin’s “The Astronaut” On “Saturday Night Live”

Wootteo made a special appearance.

ARMYs are praising Coldplay for the British rock band’s performance on NBC‘s Emmy-winning late-night comedy show Saturday Night Live (also known as SNL).

On Saturday, February 4, Chilean American actor Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian and The Last of Us) hosted Saturday Night Live. Coldplay was the musical guest that night.

ARMYs had noticed in the preview for the episode that Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin was wearing Wootteo on his jacket. Wootteo is the little astronaut mascot BTS‘s Jin created ahead of his mandatory military enlistment and the release of his solo single “The Astronaut,” which Martin co-wrote.

It turns out that Martin was giving a hint at the band’s performance. They not only performed a medley of hits, “Fix You” and “Human Heart.”

They ended up performing a cover of Jin’s “The Astronaut.”

Coldplay certainly made ARMYs proud with the performance, and we know Jin would be too. It felt like an emotional and respectful tribute to him. Since Coldplay could have performed any of their many popular songs, the fact that they chose “The Astronaut” felt especially meaningful.

ARMYs also couldn’t help but notice all the singers wore Wootteo on their shirts. Coldplay truly love Jin and take any chance they get to show it!

We hope Jin can watch the performance soon!
