On June 21, Daesung attended MAMAMOO’s third night of Seoul concerts for their Award World Tour. However, the part of his attendance that has attracted the most attention concerns who he was seated next to: KARA’s Hur Youngji and Oh My Girl’s Hyojong.

A photo of him “cozied” up to Youngji quickly went viral online, with Taeyang’s comments adding to the surge in dating rumors.

His agency quickly released a statement, denying the dating rumors.

As it turns out, however, the statement was a surprise to everyone, including Daesung.

In a recently released video, Daesung addresses the dating rumors, revealing that he learned about his agency’s response at the same time as everyone else through Naver. Daesung also added that his agency did not contact him and expressed his feeling that it should have reached out to him beforehand.

With Daesung’s largest issue seeming to be him not being contacted to verify anything himself, many have seen his reaction as “not a denial.”

On the other hand, as some fans have joked, his indignation could be over his company seeing him as “SINGLE AF.”
