According to several posts, the documentary showed Lisa confessing that she had lost confidence in her singing for years due to an incident during her trainee years under YG Entertainment.

While recording a dance practice video, Lisa was apparently singing instead of rapping. YG Entertainment then made her redo the entire video for that reason, which destroyed her confidence in her singing. She admitted that she didn’t feel confident enough to re-explore that part of her craft until the one-year break from BLACKPINK’s group activities.

Some other posts also mentioned a separate incident that damaged her confidence, where Lisa had recorded a Bruno Mars cover for a monthly evaluation. Although her vocal coach was impressed, a YG Entertainment mentor told her to stick to rapping after listening to it. This was yet another blow to her self-confidence, which led her to abandon her passion for singing. The repercussions followed her well into her solo career.

These stories have stirred up massive outrage on social media, with fans calling out YG Entertainment for trying to force Lisa into a pre-determined mold and stunting her artistic growth.
