Snubbed? BTS ARMY Questions “2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards” Nominations

“Make it make sense.”

iHeartRadio has announced its nominees for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, but one major contender is missing, according to BTS fans.

Since 2014, this annual awards show has honored the year’s most popular music artists in various categories. Five of the most coveted awards are Song of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Best Duo/Group of the Year, and Best New Artist.

BTS has taken home trophies every year since 2018, including the awards for Best Music Video and Best Fan Army. The supergroup was nominated for Best Duo/Group of the Year in 2020 and 2021 but has yet to win. 2023, unfortunately, will not be their year either.

BTS’s global popularity has skyrocketed since the release of their 2020 song “Dynamite,” leading to record-breaking sales and GRAMMY nominations, including the 2023 GRAMMY for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “My Universe,” a collaboration with Coldplay.

Given BTS’s massive popularity, sales, critical acclaim, and collaborations with other major artists, ARMYs are shocked that BTS was nominated for Best Music Video and Best Fan Army (both socially voted categories), but not Best Duo/Group of the Year.

Since nominees for the iHeartRadio Music Awards are selected based on “cumulative performance data,” ARMYs are coming with receipts to prove BTS deserves to be nominated.
