CUBE Entertainment Firmly Denies BTOB Yook Sungjae’s Dating Rumors — Here’s How It All Started
BTOB‘s Yook Sungjae was recently swept up in dating rumors. The matter started when fans noticed a voice that sounded like Sungjae’s in a famous influencer’s Instagram Story. The influencer who will henceforth be known as Ms. A, had been playing golf in the story. Coincidentally, Sungjae was known to have also been playing golf on the same day. He had also uploaded a photo of him playing golf on his Stories. Fans also found the landscape similar.
Fans began to compile other “evidences” of their rumored relationship and found out that the two were both using the same handphone case.
Fans who did some sleuthing also allegedly uncovered that she was following fellow member Peniel‘s private Instagram account. It was speculated that Peniel, known for his wide social circle amongst influencers and creators, had introduced the two. Disgruntled fans took issue with the fact that Ms. A was a known TikTok influencer with a sexy image.
On April 20, 2022, CUBE Entertainment denied the rumors to the media. They stated that the rumors flying online were not true and that Ms. A and Sungjae were simply friends. Regarding why Ms. A had turned her socials private, CUBE Entertainment claimed that Ms. A had been receiving too many DMs asking about the matter and had hence decided to private her socials.
As of April 21, 2022, she has deleted her socials. Prior to the matter, she had amassed over 60,000 followers on her various accounts. She has not spoken on the matter.
