FIFTY FIFTY’s CEO Cleared Of Charges Brought Against Him By Former Members
According to reports on March 11, KST, Jeon Hong Joon, the CEO of ATTRAKT, has been cleared of the embezzlement charges brought against him.
On this day, a representative from the label said that the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul had notified ATTRAKT that they would not be sending the case of breach of trust, filed by three former FIFTY FIFTY members, to the prosecution. The agency also expressed its intention to pursue legal measures against those parties who manipulated and deceived the former girl group members into filing the complaint.
In August last year, former FIFTY FIFTY members Saena, Sio, and Aran filed a criminal complaint against Jeong through their legal representative, the Barun law firm, alleging that the CEO had violated the Act on the Aggravated Punishment etc of Specific Economic Crimes. The members had claimed that Jeong had unfairly used the group’s music and album sales profits to repay the advance payment debt to Star Crew Entertainment, essentially owned by Jeon.
However, the police have finally concluded their investigation, and have found no evidence of the crime. Hence, they have decided to drop the case.
This outcome marks another blow to the former three FIFTY FIFTY members’ longstanding legal fight with Jeon. Read more about it here.
