Two girl group members revealed their extraordinary friendship that began in their school days, sharing a story about a fistfight they once had, which brought laughter.
On the 8th, a video titled “MAMAMOO Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, Hwasa [Jjanhan Hyung EP.148] Mamamoo has gathered, so there’s nothing we can’t do” was released on the YouTube channel Zzanbro.
In the video, Hwasa and Wheein recalled the moment they first met in middle school. Wheein said, “One day, Hwasa suddenly started singing in front of her locker,” adding, “At that time, I thought, ‘There’s no way I’m going to befriend her,’” which caused laughter.
On the other hand, Hwasa felt the exact opposite. She recalled, “I had already fallen for Wheein back then,” saying, “She pushed her bangs to the side and greeted me, and it was so charming.” She went on, “I liked her so much that I asked first, ‘Do you want to be friends with me?’” which drew attention.
Though their personalities were different, they shared the same dream and quickly became close. Hwasa said, “Our dispositions were different, but we had a lot in common,” adding, “We both dreamed of becoming singers, so we purposely entered the same arts high school.”
However, being so close also meant they had a big fight. Hwasa confessed, “We had a fist fight once,” emphasizing, “It was not a small quarrel but a serious fight.” Notably, both were drunk at the time. Wheein recalled, “At first, we were hugging each other and making a scene,” calling it “very emotional.” She added, “In retrospect, it was nothing. I don’t even remember why we fought,” then shocked everyone with, “We punched, hit, and kicked each other.” She also revealed, “I remember the exact circumstances, but Hwasa is the type to black out.”
Hwasa burst out laughing, and Wheein said, “She remembers it differently,” adding, “After that incident, we were awkward for over a week.”
Fortunately, the two reconciled and have maintained their friendship as one of the entertainment industry’s representative close friends to this day.
