ITZY Chaeryeong And Lee Chaeyeon’s Mother Diagnosed With Cancer, Heartbreaking Video Goes Viral
Support is pouring in for ITZY’s Chaeryeong and soloist Lee Chaeyeon after their mother, Sunyoung, shared that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
Sunyoung, affectionately referred to as “Chaemoni” by the sisters and their fans, shared the update on Instagram. Both Chaeryeong and Chaeyeon hearted the post, in which their mother told followers she is now a cancer patient and will be learning more about her treatment plan this month.
I’m now officially recognized by the government as a cancer patient.
I’m going to the hospital next week, and we’ll see what kind of treatment I’ll be receiving…
In the meantime, I’ll make sure to take good care of my health and stamina. I’ll smile more and put on weight with a positive mindset 💪🏻

The unfortunate news comes just days after Chaeryeong went viral for an emotional moment with her mom at ITZY’s fifth fanmeeting, ALL IN, MIDZY, in Seoul last week. In several clips circulating on social media, the pair were seen in tears as they hugged.

A few weeks earlier, Chaeyeon posted a vlog on her YouTube channel in which she was shown caring for her mother during and after a hospital stay for surgery.
