15+ K-Pop Idols Who Have Tested Positive For COVID-19 In February 2022

Right now, South Korea is experiencing a surge in Omnicron cases. The numbers have reached record highs, and unfortunately, many K-Pop idols have contracted the virus. Fans all over the world are wishing these beloved stars a speedy recovery!

1. Intak (P1Harmony)

At the beginning of February, Intak contracted COVID-19 from a family member, following the Lunar New Year holiday. FNC Entertainment informed Intak’s fans of his test results on Weverse.

Hello this is FNC Entertainment. During the Lunar New Year holiday, a member of P1Harmony’s Intak showed cold symptoms while visiting his family home. On February 3, Intak conducted a self-testing kit and received a positive result. He then went under a PCR test and as of February 4, have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.

2. Seoyeon (fromis_9)

On February 3, Pledis Entertainment released a statement on Twitter. In it, the agency revealed that Seoyeon had tested positive for the virus while her other members tested negative. Schedules were postponed to ensure the safety of fromis_9 and their staff.

Hello. This is Pledis Entertainment. We would like to inform you that fromis_9 member SEOYEON has been confirmed with COVID-19 and there will be changes to fromis_9’s schedule. SEOYEON visited a hospital on the evening of Thursday, February 3 after experiencing fatigue and itchy throat and was tested positive for COVID-19 on the rapid antigen test. She moved to a screening center to undergo a PCR test and was confirmed of COVID-19 on the morning of Friday, February 4. She is exhibiting symptoms no other than itchy throat and mild dizziness and currently waiting for treatment guidelines from the health authorities.

3. Tablo (Epik High)

On February 9, a representative for Epik High shared Tablo’s test results in an official statement. Though triple vaccinated, Tablo contracted COVID-19 with mild symptoms. As a safety precaution, Epik High postponed their activities until after Tablo’s quarantine.

Epik High’s Tablo has confirmed positive for COVID-19 today (February 9). Tablo has been fully vaccinated up until the third booster shoot. He felt minor symptoms on February 3 and took a PCR test and received a negative result on February 4. However, as a result of a voluntary re-diagnosis on February 8, he received a positive test result on February 9. Currently, his symptoms are mild and is currently waiting for treatment guidelines from the health authorities. The other members and staff who were recently in contact with Tablo have gone through testing and have all received a negative result.

4. Wonwoo (SEVENTEEN)

On February 12, Pledis Entertainment announced that Wonwoo had tested positive for COVID-19 and was experiencing flu-like symptoms.

5. Jung Yong Hwa (CNBLUE)

On February 13, FNC Entertainment announced that Jung Yong Hwa had tested positive for COVID-19. At the time, he was fully vaccinated and experiencing a mild sore throat.

Hello this is FNC Entertainment. CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa tested positive after taking a PCR test. He is currently experiencing mild sore throat symptoms and will be self-isolating and taking the necessary measures needed according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities until he is completely cured. He will be focusing on treatment and getting sufficient rest.

6. Lia (ITZY)

Lia’s positive test results were announced in a statement on February 13. ITZY’s upcoming third-anniversary celebrations (a live broadcast with fans) were canceled, to protect the members’ health.

On February 12, Lia used a self-diagnosis kit and received a positive test result. She immediately went to the hospital and took a PCR test. She is currently waiting for her results.

7. Yeji (ITZY)

Unfortunately, Lia isn’t the only ITZY member who contracted the virus. Soon after JYP Entertainment shared her test results, the agency informed fans that Yeji had also tested positive and was symptomatic.

Previously, she received an undecided result during a PCR test on February 12 and retested on February 13, resulting in a positive test on February 14. Yeji has completed two doses of the vaccine and is currently receiving at home treatment and experiencing only a mild fever.

8. Dann (KINGDOM)

Like Yeji, Dann tested positive for COVID-19 on Valentine’s Day. As a result, KINGDOM’s schedule has changed and their planned February 18 fan meeting has been postponed.

Hello this is GF Entertainment. KINGDOM’s Dann has tested positive for COVID-19. After testing positive, he underwent a PCR test and received a positive result. He has completed two doses of the vaccine and does not have any major health problems. He has suspended all schedules and is focusing on self-isolation and treatment in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. Due to this, KINGDOM’s future schedules may change accordingly.

9. TEMPEST

Of all the K-Pop groups who have tested positive this month, these rookies have been hit the hardest. In an official statement, Yuehua Entertainment confirmed that all seven members have tested positive. Their debut, originally scheduled for February 21, has been postponed to March 2.

On February 13, one of TEMPEST’s external staff members confirmed positive for COVID-19. Thus, all members were immediately tested and received a positive result.  TEMPEST has completed the second dose of the vaccine and have used a self-diagnosis kit before proceeding with each schedule. Currently, all the members are experiencing a fever and mild cold symptoms. They are all receiving at home treatment and resting in accordance with the quarantine authorities.

10. Eunkwang (BTOB)

Eunkwang tested positive for COVID-19 just before the group’s comeback date. Cube Entertainment revealed that he has been experiencing mild symptoms since February 14.

On February 14, he experienced a sore throat and received a negative test using a self-diagnosis test. He then took a PCR test as a preemptive measure and received a positive result today (February 15). Due to this, the other members have all taken a PCR test and is currently waiting for the results.

Eunkwang has currently completed two doses of the vaccine and has currently suspended all activities and taking the necessary measures according to the quarantine authorities. We will continue to comply with the authorities and put our artists’ health and safety as a first priority. Thank you.

11. San (ATEEZ)

This year, on Valentine’s Day of all days, ATEEZ’s San tested positive for COVID-19. KQ Entertainment shared details about San’s diagnosis on ATEEZ’s fancafe. Unlike many of the other idols who have recently tested positive, San was asymptomatic at the time of testing.

ATEEZ members Yunho, San, Mingi, and Wooyoung recently returned from the United States following their world tour performances. Prior to leaving the United States, they received PCR tests and tested negative, and on February 12, they arrived in South Korea.

Following this, according to the health guidelines, San took another PCR test on February 14 and tested positive, and he will be undergoing treatment at home while isolating. Yunho, Mingi, and Wooyoung received another negative result on February 15, and are currently isolating.

12. V (BTS)

Just two weeks after Jimin recovered from COVID-19, V tested positive. On February 15, BigHit Entertainment detailed V’s condition and test results in a Weverse statement. At the time of testing, V was experiencing a sore throat and a mild fever. Although V was around his members, none are currently experiencing symptoms.

V visited the hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 15th after experiencing a mild sore throat and took the PCR test. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight.

V completed two rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat. He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities.

13. Chaeryoung (ITZY)

Chaeryoung is the third ITZY member to test positive this month. In a statement, JYP Entertainment said that Chaeryoung initially tested negative on February 12, but she tested positive three days later. She is experiencing headaches and coughing.

She then went into self-quarantine and took a self-diagnosis kit on February 15, which tested positive. She immediately took a PCR test and was officially confirmed positive on February 16.

14. CRAVITY

On February 16, Starship Entertainment announced that Wonjin had been confirmed positive for COVID-19. Woobin was also tested but received a negative test. On February 12, Serim, Jungmo, Allen, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung, and Sungmin all tested positive for COVID-19.

CRAVITY’s Woojin received a positive COVID-19 test on February 15. Woojin previously took a PCR test on February 12 and went into quarantine after receiving a negative result. During self-quarantine, he showed signs of a fever and sore throat and confirmed positive with a self-diagnosis kit. He then underwent a PCR test and confirmed positive on February 15.

15. Yeonjun (TXT)

Today, BigHit Music announced via Weverse that Yeonjun has received a positive COVID-19 test result. After experiencing symptoms over the weekend, he went to the hospital for testing. Although the test was negative, Yeonjun still chose to quarantine. Yeonjun’s symptoms worsened, and he tested positive on February 16.

YEONJUN had felt unwell including having a headache on Saturday the 12th and took the PCR test after visiting the hospital of which came back negative. Since then, he went into preemptive quarantine away from the other members. He later started to present other mild symptoms such as a mild fever and sore throat, and took another PCR test on Wednesday the 16th, and was diagnosed with COVID-19 this morning.
