Lee Jong Suk’s Last Instagram Post Right Before IU Breakup Raises Eyebrows
Just days before news broke that Lee Jong Suk and IU had ended their four-year relationship, the actor was quietly posting from what fans are now calling a “breakup trip.”
Looking back at his two most recent Instagram uploads, the timing and the details are striking fans as far from coincidental.
His latest post shows him relaxing overseas with friends: beach hangouts, a resort pool, and golden-hour sunset shots that read more like a getaway to clear his head than a casual vacation.
The post before that carried the same tone, part of a string of updates he shared over roughly a month, from mid-June onward.
What’s drawing the most attention, though, is the song he has attached to one of the posts.
Lee Jong Suk chose Justin Hurwitz‘s “Planetarium” from the La La Land OST, the song that plays during the film’s iconic Griffith Observatory waltz, arguably the happiest moment shared by the movie’s two leads before everything falls apart.
With Ace Factory and EDAM Entertainment confirming on July 10 that Lee Jong Suk and IU have split, citing busy schedules as the reason, the posts have taken on new meaning.
Nothing in the captions directly references the breakup, and neither agency has commented on the trip itself. But the overlap in timing has been enough to convince Korean media that he was already processing the end of the relationship while these photos were going up.
Lee Jong Suk and IU met in 2012 as Inkigayo co-MCs and confirmed their romance in 2022 after years of friendship, closing out the chapter after four years together.
