“Lowkey Coming Out” — 5th Gen Idol Admits She Thought Of A Girl While Writing Love Song

She says she’s a little embarrassed to listen to it.

Idols have to get creative when coming up with romance for their songs, and it seems that YOUNG POSSE‘s Doeun is no different.

Earlier this summer, Young Posse released their first mixtape, young tape, which features 12 tracks. Of the twelve tracks, most are either solos or combinations of the members, along with some featured artists.

The group discussed the background of each song during a video shared on their YouTube account.  During it, Doeun talked about the background behind “Need U,” her solo.

She says that while writing it, she had a specific scenario in mind: she imagined inviting a girl she had a crush on to the studio.

So, the concept is that I invite the person I like into my studio. Um… maybe it was a girl? Anyway, I call her into my workspace… And there, I kind of try to show off and flirt with her, like I’m trying to win her over lol. The lyrics are like, ‘What if we’re walking together and someone finds out about us?’ ‘Then let’s pretend we don’t know each other. Let’s act clueless.’ I included that by parodying the lines from Pat & Mat. That’s the kind of song it is. So honestly, I can’t listen to this song myself. It’s just way too embarrassing lol.
