Popular Actors’ “Couple Shots” For New Romance K-Drama Hit With Brutal Backlash
Lee Chae Min and Roh Yoon Seo‘s newly released couple photos for their upcoming romance drama have sparked mixed reactions online, with some Korean netizens criticizing both the actors and the casting.

On July 29, tvN confirmed that both actors will star in the upcoming K-Drama My Reason to Die (working title), which is scheduled to premiere next year.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, the show follows a man (Lee Chae Min) trapped in an endless time loop as he repeatedly tries to save the woman (Roh Yoon Seo) he loves. At the same time, she fights against fate to protect him.

The two actors previously appeared together in the 2023 K-Drama Crash Course in Romance, where they played friends whose relationship eventually developed into a romance.

Following the announcement, tvN released promotional “couple shots” of the pair. The photos quickly spread across Korean online communities, where netizens shared harsh opinions.

While a few praised the actors’ chemistry, others questioned their acting skills, appearance, and the casting itself.

- “It really shows that there aren’t many new breakout male and female actors these days. The acting industry really is a blue ocean now.”
- “There aren’t really any actresses with standout charm these days. Jo Yi Hyun from All of Us Are Dead was one of the few I found charming. I don’t even know what she’s been up to lately. Oh well.”
- “Neither of them can act, so I think this is going to flop.”
- “They look great together. I hope it’s a romantic comedy.”
- “Lee Chae Min’s style really gives off a mainland Chinese actor vibe. It feels a bit greasy. He looked cool in The Tyrant, though.”
As more details about My Reason to Die are released, fans will be watching to see whether the on-screen pairing wins over viewers.
