During a recent live broadcast, Soojin unexpectedly told fans that she likely won’t be making a comeback this year. She added that next year may be more promising, though exactly when her next song will release is unknown.

The update comes as Soojin surpasses 400 days since her last comeback, “BADITUDE,” released on August 27, 2025. As such, fans aren’t taking the news well. Many are slamming BRD Entertainment for mistreatment and mismanagement, urging Soojin to leave the company, while others are worried for the star’s future overall.

After departing i-dle in 2021, Soojin launched her solo career in November 2023. Since then, she has released two mini albums and one single album. Her first two mini albums, AGASSY and RIZZ, sold around 73,000 copies and 67,000 copies respectively in their first week, while BADITUDE sold just 11,000.

Soojin’s statement has also prompted concern over the star’s own feelings on her career.

I’m VERY afraid that this is a reflection of how she’s feeling and not the company’s decision. She’s been receiving mass attacks with every release and has no protection, the fandom keeps getting smaller and smaller, and the situation is so tense that we don’t even think about how she’s doing through all of this :(
