Sung Hoon Sparks Controversy For Responding Rudely To MAMAMOO Hwasa's Compliment

On a recent episode of MBC‘s I Live Alone, Sung Hoon gained much attention for his bearded face.

Regarding the extra facial hair, Sung Hoon explained,

Because of COVID-19, all of my schedules have been cancelled.

And as soon as his more natural look was revealed on the screen, the cast of I Live Alone showed all sorts of different reactions.

Some of the cast members including Park Na Rae and Han Hye Jin were astonished.

On the other hand, MAMAMOO‘s Hwasa complimented the facial hair.

It looks cool. Don’t you think men with facial hair look cool?

But Sung Hoon put on a straight face and responded with,

As for Hwasa, she simply brushed it off by saying,

Okay, fine. You look like a bandit.

Some netizens are criticizing Sung Hoon for responding rudely to Hwasa’s compliment with comments such as “That was rude“, “Sung Hoon made a mistake“, and “I feel humiliated for her. It’s uncomfortable to watch“.

On the other hand, some are coming to Sung Hoon’s defense with comments such as “He’s just kidding because they’re friends”, “How is that uncomfortable to watch?“, and “People are so sensitive these days“.
