Unexpected 4th Gen Idol To Lead Netflix’s Next Romance K-Drama

No one saw this coming…

A familiar face from the K-Pop world is making a bold move into leading lady territory.

According to My Daily, ITZY‘s Yuna has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming Netflix Original K-Drama Do Not Cross The Wall. It marks her first leading role after a relatively quiet start in acting.

Yuna will play Kim Riji, a transfer student at an all-girls high school with a magnetic personality and a love-supremacist attitude. She enters the school on an athletic scholarship for long-distance track and quickly disrupts the studious atmosphere by bragging about her old co-ed school days and showing off boys’ phone numbers to anyone who’ll listen.

The K-Drama itself centers on two elite rival schools — one all-boys, one all-girls — separated by a single wall. When both schools elect equally headstrong student council presidents, an inevitable romance sparks. However, getting caught dating means expulsion.

It’s a classic high-teen setup with some real stakes, and the script comes from Lee Na-eun, the writer behind the beloved Our Beloved Summer, so expectations for the storytelling are already high.

Yuna debuted as an actress earlier this year with a special appearance in tvN’s Undercover Miss Hong, and she’s also set to appear in a supporting role in the upcoming My Favorite Employee K-Drama later this year.
