An upcoming idol boy group, WayF Boys, has stirred up some heated reactions on social media with sneak peeks of their visual and musical concepts.

WayF Boys came into the radar of netizens a few weeks ago after the group started sharing content featuring the members. Every update on their social media account seemed to be a direct challenge to the existing “idol” image that K-Pop artists are expected to stick to.

Recently, more posts featuring the members have gone viral on social media, inviting remarks that were highly critical of the group’s approach. One such post included photos of the members flipping off the camera and another picture of them standing with their pants completely down.

Another post showed the members vibing to a snippet of their unreleased song during an Instagram live.

Both the visual and sonic aesthetic of this upcoming boy group has stirred up heated outrage, with many netizens claiming that they were trying to mimic Black aesthetics in a superficial manner. There were also some direct comparisons to boy groups such as CORTIS and LNGSHOT, and not in a good way.

Meanwhile, WayF Boys is slated to unveil their first project on June 26, 2026, offering fans a full view of their “Nu-K-Pop” concept.
