Jessica’s recent comment against international fans causes massive controversy

Korean netizens are praising Jessica Jung‘s comments made towards international fans after she interacted with her Instagram followers for a brief period.

On September 21st, Jessica posted a photo of herself getting ready to enjoy a meal outside. She takes on a natural look for the day with minimal makeup, keeping her hair loose and straight. The fashion designer and singer invites her followers, leaving the caption, “Join me.”

Briefly, she is seen interacting with her fans in the comments, leaving cute comments such as, “I was getting lazy with my hair.. so I dried it.. thanks for liking it” and “Really?!”

However, there was one particular comment that grabbed the attention of Korean netizens with Jessica posting, “Learn Korean :P,” answering to requests from international fans.

Due to the language barrier, many international fans will leave requests to their bias’ to post in English, or at least leave an English translation to their original Korean post, in order for them to understand. However, this has left a sour mouth in Korean netizens as the numbers of requests has increased as K-Pop continues to go global.

At Jessica’s reply for international fans to “learn Korean,” Koreans have shown satisfaction towards her answer. On the other hand, while some international fans took her comment as a joke, some took it more seriously, leaving comments that it was disrespectful and rude to write such a post towards her fans.
