Oh Yeon Seo Reveals Her Obsession With Anime, Comic Books, And More
On the May 11 episode of tvN’s On and Off, actress Oh Yeon Seo shared some insight into what her everyday life is like!
Firstly, Oh Yeon Seo revealed that she’s a big fan of Uhm Jung Hwa, who is the host of the program and one of the most influential singers in K-Pop. Uhm Jung Hwa then asked if Yeon Seo had ever worked as a singer before, to which she said yes. In 2002, Oh Yeon Seo was actually in the girl group trio, LUV. In the group, she went by her original birth name, Haetnim. Sadly, the group was short-lived and disbanded in 2003.
The show gave a look into her photoshoot for the poster of her upcoming Kakao TV K-Drama Crazy Person in the Area, which is also tentatively being called Mad for Each Other. Her co-star Jung Woo also asked if she ever promoted as a singer. She replied, “I made my debut when I was 16. I think I have much more of an aptitude for acting.”
When Yeon Seo was asked about her secret to taking good selfies, she revealed that she uses her hand to make her face look smaller. She explained that she doesn’t really think she deserves the title of “selfie expert” anymore since she’s aged since then. She did say, though, that no matter what, confidence is the most important part.
I recently filmed for a series, and when I’m done work, I’m very much a homebody. People say that I look like I would be uptight and cold when they first see me, but many people are surprised when they get to know me.

Oh Yeon Seo revealed the impressive house that she lives in with her parents. During that time, she shared her love for animated shows such as cartoons and anime. She revealed that her favorite anime lately is Crayon Shin-chan and that she even has the same rice bowl as the main character.
When she watches anime on TV, she often follows along with the characters’ lines. One of her most recent quotes is, “I want to become ugly since I’m so pretty.” Yeon Seo explained that she is only a beginner to mid-level fan and that many people like it much more than her.
Her Mother: “Until what age can you watch these?”
Oh Yeon Seo: “50 years old.”
Her Mother: “So you won’t mature until that age? It’s nice that your soul is pure.”
Although she didn’t move when her mother told her to go outside for a bit, she immediately got up when a delivery person showed up. It turns out the package had many figures inside, which she assembled and took a picture of.
When Yeon Seo finally left the house, she sat at a comic book cafe where people can eat food while reading comic books. She revealed that it was one of her favorite places, especially because she gets reprimanded when she reads while eating at home. “I want to live here,” she boasted.
I want to become someone who dreams. I’ve done well on focusing on what I like since I was young. Being done with work is valuable time, and I think it’s a driving force in my life.

Her new series is set to premiere on May 24.
