Ahn Jae Hyun likely to play the male lead of new KBS drama “Blood”

Model-turned-actor Ahn Jae Hyun is reported to have high chances of being the male lead for KBS2‘s upcoming drama Blood. The news was revealed to Korean news site Wstar News by a broadcast official.

The storyline of Blood revolves around a heroic story of a vampire surgeon who treats terminally ill patients and fights for the justice and honor of life. It is a highly anticipated drama of 2015, as it is yet another collaboration between producer Ki Min Soo and writer Park Jae Bum, who had previously produced the hit drama Good Doctor.

Should he accept the drama offer, Ahn Jae Hyun will take on a new challenge of acting as the head of hepatobiliary surgery (liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct related) in a cancer center. The only shortcoming of the character is that he has an obsession with blood. The main lead, Park Ji Sang, is supposedly a special vampire who is not able to control himself, which will be an interesting character played by Ahn Jae Hyun.

Ahn Jae Hyun’s agency HB Entertainment responded to the news by saying, “Ahn Jae Hyun has been offered to play the male lead for Blood and is now in the midst of serious consideration whether or not to take up the role.” If Ahn Jae Hyun accepts the offer, this will be his first attempt at being the male lead of a drama after 1 year of debut in his acting career.

Ahn Jae Hyun has gained much attention for his previous acting roles, as Jeon Ji Hyun‘s younger brother in SBS drama You Who Came From The Stars, and as one of the main detectives with slightly homosexual tendencies in the SBS drama You’re All Surrounded.

Blood is expected to premiere in February 2015, following the Monday and Tuesday 10pm KST timeslot after Healer.
