They’re both iconic ❤️

GOT7‘s BamBam is an iconic rapper, and he seemed to reference another iconic rapper in his acceptance speech at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards.

BamBam actually won 2 awards last night. He won Asia Celebrity (Singer) and Best Artist (Singer).

When he accepted the Asia Celebrity Award, BamBam spoke in Korean, Thai, and English. When he started the English section of his speech, he said, “Alright man, it’s ya boy Double B, BamBam.”

He thanked his GOT7 members and fans all around the world for supporting him before thanking someone else who contributed a lot to his success: himself! BamBam said, “And last but not least, I also want to thank myself that is always believing in myself and doing all the hard work and never gives up.” He ended the speech by saying thank you followed by his signature “skkrt skkrt.”

BamBam’s English speech seemed to be a reference to the speech Snoop Dogg made when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018.

Snoop Dogg famously started his speech off by saying, “I want to thank me.”

He continued, “I want to thank me for believing in me. I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I want to thank me for having no days off. I want to thank me for never quitting.”

Snoop Dogg’s speech was very similar to the speech BamBam made last night. They both thanked themselves for believing in themselves, working hard, and never giving up.

Ahgases pointed out BamBam’s apparent Snoop Dogg reference on Twitter, and called him a king for thanking himself during his speech.

Congrats on the awards, BamBam!
