SUPER☆GiRLS is an eight-member Japanese idol group that debuted on December 22, 2010. Over the years, the group has had many lineup changes, with Sakabayashi Kana joining in 2018 and Tanaka Cocona becoming a member in 2021.

SUPER☆GiRLS has now confirmed that both Kana and Cocona will be leaving or “graduating” from the group this summer. Both will make their final appearance during SUPER☆GiRLS’s 16th anniversary concert. According to the announcement, Kana has decided to quit while she’s still able to perform at her best and pass the baton on to the next generation.

Cocona plans to pursue other areas of interest that she developed during her time as an idol, namely fashion.

Some idols choose to stay in the entertainment industry after leaving their groups, but that’s not the case for Kana or Cocona. Both members plan to retire from entertainment entirely after their final SUPER☆GiRLS show.
