Everyone wants what may be the best movie of the year.

Parasite is a hot topic in the movie world right now after it won the extremely prestigious Palme d’Or award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

Bong Joon Ho’s latest film earned Korea it’s first Plame d’Or win and is universally praised by critics. There has been significant interest in distributing it throughout cinemas in the United States.

There have also been rumours that a full American remake is in the works and this prompted CJ Entertainment (the film’s distributors) to give a statement to Korean media in response.

As the winner of the Palme d’Or and as Bong Joon Ho’s latest film, it’s true there has been a lot of interest in Parasite overseas. However, there are no concrete plans or talks for a remake. We think these rumours spread because their is a lot of interest in Parasite. While talks are progressing, none of them have yielded results.
