Birthday Cafe Owner Blasted For Scamming K-Pop Idol Who Paid For Fan’s Drinks

The cafe is being canceled online.

Recently, fans opened birthday cafes for NCT DREAM’s Chenle, whose birthday was on November 22.

Over the weekend, he made a surprise visit to the cafes, interacted with fans, and bought them drinks.

However, one cafe was hit with much backlash online for scamming Chenle into paying more.

I was filming this video right next to Chenle, so I heard the conversation loud and clear. Chenle said he would pay for 50 drinks, but the employee said, ‘Ah, 500,000 KRW ($~339.50 USD)’ and swiped his card. After Chenle left, we tried to get the drinks that Chenle had paid for us, but the employee started talking rudely and informally, and didn’t give us the birthday freebies included. When I asked for them, they said it didn’t come with the drinks we ordered. They kept talking informally. I let it go because it was Chenle’s birthday, but I knew it would blow up someday.

Chenle said he would pay for 50 drinks, but you just swiped 500,000 KRW and didn’t give the freebies that came with the prepaid drinks? Is it appropriate for a cafe owner to speak informally to the fans who attended the birthday cafe? No one should hold birthday cafes here anymore.

With this, fans and netizens criticized the cafe for their rude attitude.

F*ck don’t use Chenle’s money like that.

This cafe owner is so rude and he doesn’t have X so he probably doesn’t know he’s getting canceled.

I’m not a fan but I can’t let this go. Who swipes 500,000 KRW when he said 50 drinks? This owner doesn’t have even the basic manners. Stories like this need to be spread online.
