The mega-popular idol, who previously stirred controversy for allegedly going on a live stream drunk and using profanities, addressed international fans who asked him to read their comments.

Jungkook explained that he mainly reads Korean messages and bluntly asked English-speaking fans to use Korean instead.

I’m not good at English, so I only read the Korean ones. I rarely look at the English ones… So use Korean? Learn how to use Korean.

Many ARMYs praised Jungkook’s honesty, noting that he was simply setting boundaries and explaining why he can’t respond to every comment.

Many pointed out that Jungkook and BTS have released songs fully in English to increase their global impact and fanbase — including Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN. Some even claimed the English releases were a move for Western recognition, making his demand feel arrogant.

They argued that expecting fans to learn Korean while he doesn’t speak English for them seemed contradictory.

The guy has a full album in English (English that he obviously doesn’t know) even though he knows he has Korean fans. Then he didn’t care that many of his fans don’t know English. He can demand that they learn his language, but he can’t learn English for his fans, kinda arrogant, huh?
