Earlier this year, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo was under investigation for tax evasion, claiming that he owed over ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $13.7 million USD).

Most recently, he posted a personal apology on Instagram, stating that he had paid all relevant taxes related to the matter.

He stated that he “respects the procedures and decisions of the National Tax Service” and “has paid all relevant taxes.” He also added that he would “continue to make an effort to be someone who takes full responsibility for his choices and actions.”

In particular, it was also revealed that the actual tax payment made by Cha Eunwoo, previously reported to be ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $13.5 million USD), was actually ₩13.0 billion KRW (about $8.79 million USD).

However, netizens scoffed that he was trying to get a discount even with his taxes.
