Learn more about the “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” actress.

Actress Seo Ye Ji held an elegant photo shoot with Cosmopolitan magazine and answered questions such as her thoughts on her recent drama, what type of clothes she likes to wear, and what she would tell her twenty-year old self.

The ending for “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” left a lasting impression. How did you feel about it?

Truthfully, I wasn’t able to actually watch the drama while I was filming. I made time for myself to watch the last episode at home. Instead of monitoring my acting, I tried to watch it from a viewer’s perspective and I felt like it did a good job of bringing closure to the pain and it made my heart warm.

People have been talking about how you and Kim Soohyun look similar since the beginning of this drama. How was it working with him?

He’s really a funny guy and always makes the staff and other actors laugh with his jokes. But when we start acting he totally focuses on his role and becomes the best acting partner. Towards the end of the drama, there were scenes that used a lot of emotions, and I received a lot of help from him for those parts.

Was there any experience that you had that taught you about growth and overcoming something?

I think it was the process it took me to become an actor. In my twenties, I constantly asked myself “What’s my dream?” and “What do I want to do?” The experiences I had through this time strengthened my will to protect myself.

A lot of the outfits you wore in the drama gained a lot of attention. What style of clothes do you personally enjoy wearing?

My role in the drama was someone out of a fairy-tale who liked flashy and dramatic outfits. But for me personally I like simple styles like a white t-shirt and jeans. The outfits I wore for the drama was something totally new for me. I do like to wear dresses so it was fun to be able to wear so many fun dresses.

Is there anything you would like to say to your twenty-year old self?

“Don’t get hurt.” “Endure.” “You’re pretty.” Nothing more and nothing less. These are the three things I would like to say to myself.

What are your plans for the future? How do you plan on spending the rest of 2020?

I don’t have any special plans. I usually spend a lot of my time practicing and thinking about my roles, but this time I plan on just taking a rest. Since I was so busy with the drama and filming, I didn’t have much time to rest. I plan on spending some time to just relax and catch up on some sleep.
