Byeon Woo Seok‘s name for his fan club has sparked debate.
On April 18, a post titled “Byeon Woo Seok Is A Fcking Turn Off” went viral.
In the post, the author uploads a picture of the actor’s signature. In the photo, the actor writes that the new name for his fan club is Toilets. A play on his last name, Byeon, which is the first syllable for toilet in Korean (Byeon Ki Tong romanized)

Netizens reacted to the post, with many fans defending the actor. Many explained that most fans were happy with the name and that the actor had since changed the name of the fan club.
- “I think it’s more weird that the author was offended by it.”
- “That was a joke he made in 2016 and he said he wanted to change it after a day, but fans said it was cute and still wanted to use it. Also him calling fans chubby (tong tong) isn’t out of malice but because he had previously said his ideal type was someone that was small and chubby. The name has since been changed to mail box.”
