Netizens React To Allegations Of ILLIT Copying Choreography From NewJeans And LE SSERAFIM

“It’s obviously just hybe marketing or the same choreographers…”

Earlier today, we wrote about some K-Pop fans noting similarities between the choreography of HYBE Labels‘ new girl group, ILLIT, and that of artists such as NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM.

While there are certainly some similar moves in the dance for ILLIT’s debut songs and in the choreographies of the other groups mentioned, there has been debate over whether it’s actually problematic, or just an inevitable coincidence between artists under the same label.

Since ILLIT, NewJeans, and LE SSERAFIM are all under HYBE Labels (albeit under different subsidiaries), the debate about whether or not they can truly plagiarize or copy each other is even more confusing than accusations between artists from different labels.
