MONSTA X announces official debut and showcase date

After an agonizing wait, Starship Entertainment has finally revealed the official debut date to upcoming hip-hop boy group MONSTA X.

According to the agency on May 6th, MONSTA X will be making their official debut on  May 14th but not before holding a media and fan showcase on the 13th. This will end their six month online promotion that lasted from the inception of NO.MERCY to now.

MONSTA X consists of seven members chosen through a competitive trainee survival show, NO.MERCY, and includes members Jooheon, Shownu, Kihyun, Wonho, Hyungwon, Minhyuk, and I.M. Since the end of the show, the group has been kept busy through pictorial shoots, featuring in OSTs, and completing their advertising model jobs.

An official from the agency said, “MONSTA X’s debut album will appeal to a large audience and is filled with their identity as idols and their youth. Through their interpretation of a powerful youth, strong hip-hop rhythms and pop, and dynamic R&B sound, MONSTA X will solidify their image through this album.”

Their showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 13th at the Lotte Card Art Center, while their first album will be out on May 14th.
